Announcing: WordCamp for Kids!

We’re really excited to announce that we’re hosting a Kid’s WordCamp alongside our regular WordCamp! Geared toward kids aged 10 and up, the day includes workshop-style classes and learning sessions.

Tickets for Kid’s WordCamp are $20 and include a t-shirt and lunch.

Ages: Geared toward kids aged 10-14, although any age welcome to attend (space permitting)

Description:

2 – 2hr workshop-style classes meant to be an introduction to WordPress an geared toward the absolute newbie. Additional learning sessions will also be available.

Requirements:

  • Working laptop with the ability to connect to wifi
  • Username and password to an active account on wordpress.com.

  • Posts vs Pages (organization)
  • Themes
  • the Dashboard
  • Media
  • Plugins

Location:

University of Texas at Arlington (UTA), the same location as regular WordCamp.

    I’d love to bring my niece to this. She could borrow my laptop.
    Would an iPad still be ok?

  2. Jessica, a laptop would be preferable because that is what I’ll be using for all my examples but if she needs to use the ipad I’m sure we can work with that. Let me know if you have any other questions.
