Our Q&A with Susan Sullivan

Susan will be joining us as a speaker for WordCamp DFW with her talk entitled “Discovery and Design” on our Business track.

Why do you use WordPress?

Before Sumy Designs started using WordPress we were using Joomla. We use WordPress because it isn’t Joomla. We needed a CMS that our clients could easily manage and WordPress fit the bill.

When and how did you get started using WordPress?

We created our first WordPress site for a client in 2006, we loved it and by 2009 we were using WordPress exclusively.

How do you stay informed about WordPress news, tips, etc.?

We stay up-to-date about WordPress through twitter, blogs and podcasts.

What do you like most about WordCamps? (and which have you attended?)

Sumy designs attended their first WordCamp in 2013 and we walked away with so much information that it changed the way we ran out business. These changes made our small business boom. The value of networking with other with people who have the same interests is immeasurable. (I’ve attended WordCamps in Las Vegas, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Boston.)

Susan will be speaking at WordCamp DFW 2016. Her talk is entitled “Discovery and Design“! Until then, find Susan online at sumydesigns.com or tweet her @runnersusan.
