In order to drive costs down for our attendees, we look to sponsors to help make WordCamp part of this awesome open source community.
Please see our sponsorship levels for complete details and lists of benefits. To become a Flame-level Sponsor, simply select that option when purchasing your ticket.
Thank you for your interest in helping to make this event a success!
Call for Speakers
Do you want to share your experiences with WordPress and the web with other people? Then being a speaker at WordCamp 2017 might be for you.
We’re currently accepting speaker applications and would love to see some from y’all! WordCamp DFW is a welcoming and inclusive event, and provides the chance to give a presentation to a friendly audience. Topics such as web content strategy, user experience, diversity, blogging, business, and community are all great subjects for talks at WordCamp DFW. We also want to hear from voices outside the WordPress community. Are you well versed in project management? Are you a blogger who has gone pro? Do you have a story about how the web changed your life? We want to hear from you!
And if this is your first time speaking, great! We love to see new faces help drive the discussion. In fact, new speakers are encouraged to apply.
Please fill out the form below to submit your speaker application for this year’s WordCamp DFW. Please be as detailed as possible with your talk information to help it stand out against the others. If you’d like to propose multiple topics, please fill out the form multiple times, once for each topic.
The deadline for submissions is September 24, 2017.
WordCamp DFW 2017 Dates, Venue Announced
WordCamp DFW 2017 will be held on November 11-12 at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, the organizing committee announced on August 10. This is the first time WordCamp DFW has been held over the course of two days.
“WordCamp DFW has sold out every year since its revival in 2014, so this year we are hoping to make the most out of this once-a-year event,” lead organizer Marc Gratch said.
WordCamp DFW, re-started in 2014, is one of 740 WordCamps held in the United States and around the world. WordCamps feature talks about everything WordPress, the free and open source personal publishing software that powers over 75 million sites on the web.
Talks range anywhere from blogging, to development with WordPress, to running a business with the content management system. Anyone, from beginners to veteran users who have been using WordPress for years, are welcome to learn more and share ideas.
Tickets for WordCamp DFW 2017 are currently on sale for $40. To apply to speak at WordCamp DFW, please fill out the application. Topics can cover everything involving WordPress, such as web content strategy, user experience, diversity, blogging, business, development, and community. Talks outside of the WordPress realm, such as project management and how the web has changed your life, are also welcome.
Located in the Medical Education & Training (MET) Building at 1000 Montgomery Street, the UNT Health Science Center is situated near the growing 7th Street area and the museum district. It also hosts the monthly Fort Worth WordPress Users Meetup.
“This year’s WordCamp DFW is strongly focused on community,” Gratch said. “The local WordPress community, local government, nonprofits, etc. So it seemed very fitting to have this year’s event at a venue that has graciously hosted our local Meetup for 3 years. In subsequent years, we will choose a Dallas venue for WordCamp DFW as well as investigate hosting the event in surrounding cities.”
