WordCamp DFW will host a Contributor Day on Sunday, Nov. 12, in addition to the other great talks during the day. The event will be led by Aaron Campbell and Eric Binnion.
Contributor Days are times where people can come together to help make WordPress better, whether it be through contributing to core, helping write documentation or even answering questions on the support forums.
“WordPress powers more than 28 percent of the top ten million sites on the web, but WordPress is powered by volunteer contributors,” Campbell said. “I love getting the chance to help people that are excited to contribute back, learn how they can do so.”
Attendees to the Contributor Day portion of WordCamp DFW can participate in 15 different areas of WordPress. You can learn more at the Make WordPress blog.
“Contributor days usually involve both regular contributors working on projects as well as new contributors learning how to get involved for the first time,” Campbell said. “The best part is, there’s no need to know how to code.”
Attendees will be free to come and go from the contributor day room as they feel. But Campbell said he has high hopes for those who do attend.
“I hope that people get inspired, excited, and equipped to contribute back to WordPress and make it better for everyone,” Campbell said.
Tickets are now on sale for this year’s WordCamp DFW held on Nov. 11-12. There are also plenty of opportunities to sponsor the event or help run it. We hope to see you there!
