Welcome to Elyssa Fernandez, our official youngest speaker at WordCamp DFW this year!
I write blog posts for the blog I started with my sister Elisha, WhollyART. We write for teens and kids about expressing yourself, wholesome living, and positive values. WordPress has been essential to us for putting our message out in the world!
She is definitely excited to share her message with WordCamp DFW 2019 attendees. This is not her first rodeo (pun definitely intended there 😉 when it comes to WordCamps or speaking!
I’ve spoken at WordCamp many times in the past. I’ve attended WordCamp DFW for several years, and I’ve spoken there twice before. It’s always a wonderful experience, and I love every WordCamp I attend.
Elyssa will present “Keeping Youth Safe In the Changing World of Technology,” with her sister, Elisha. They will teach practical ways on how to keep kids and teens safe while giving them freedom to be tech savvy and do what they love online.
Safety for kids in the online world is a subject my sister and I are very passionate about, so we definitely wanted to seize this opportunity and pitch our session. The internet is an incredible tool, and it can be fun, but only when we use it correctly. I’m so excited to share my knowledge with the other WordCamp attendees!
She’s also a firm believer in helping kids achieve their dreams. She wrote her first book at 7 years old, and became an activist for kids becoming what they want to be.
It is my hope that everyone who attends will learn how to keep the youth around them safe and happy in the online world, in fun and effective ways. Everyone wants the kids in their lives to be protected, but sometimes it’s hard to know how to do it, and how to get them to listen.
Elyssa loves WordPress (obviously), and we are happy to have her as a part of our community.
I first got involved with WordPress when my mom, Elayna Fernandez, switched the blog I shared with my sister from a static website to WordPress in 2013. We’ve been using WordPress ever since, and we attended our first WordCamp here in DFW soon after.
She can’t wait to meet all of you! Stop her and say hello – Elyssa would love to get to know you.
I love being part of WordCamp. We’re all a family, and we learn and grow together.
Tweet during Elyssa Fernandez’ talk using #WCDFW and ask her about her art!
I’m an artist in every sense of the word! I love writing, painting, drawing, and just about anything that involved creating. I really enjoy acting and singing, and so I participate in a lot of musicals.
To learn from our expert speakers and be part of our community, make sure sure you get your WordCamp DFW tickets here!
